Some days ago, I stumbled upon a recently added web series on my Netflix homepage. First, I saw the trailer, and the story instantly grabbed me, which is centered around a young boy accused of murder. That was enough to pull me in, and I swear, as a filmmaker myself, I was just stunned watching the first episode. Before I even realized it, I had binged the whole series, and the sun was already up.

I genuinely appreciate the crew, cast, and everyone behind the creation of such a magnificent piece in web-show history. The dialogues, camera movements, acting, production design, set management & every single department nailed it in bringing this show to life.

If you've seen it or have guessed what I’m talking about, then yes, I’m writing about Adolescence. I know everyone’s talking about it, but trust me, if you’re a filmmaker reading this, you’ll do the same. We all know how much time and effort it takes to make even a feature film with a realistic approach - ask me, I’ve directed a feature-length film myself. No matter how much we love what we do, it is exhausting, tiring but creating something is just another experience you get for your Hard work as a Filmmaker.

There’s something about adolescence that makes it one of the most visually and emotionally powerful subjects. It’s something where every emotion feels like the end of the world, every interaction could be life-changing, and silence often speaks louder than words. To capture that on-screen & not just in a way that feels real, but in a way that hits you in the gut, that in itself is an art form. And Adolescence, Netflix’s latest British series, doesn’t just capture it. It masterfully immerses you in it.

Created by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne, this four-part limited series is a raw, unfiltered exploration of youth, identity, and the suffocating weight of perception. Music isn’t just an accessory in Adolescence, it just get you to feel how our characters are feeling, just like memories playing with the Sound track playing in the Background enhancing every bit and us viewers experiencing the same bit together with the Characters.
